Freeing Data

The thoughts are like winding paths when I think of photography. Without trying too hard, this metaphor describes the omnipresence of constantly repeating images. The views that pop up, the panorama happy end, are as overwhelming as they are deadly boring. Fortunately, these thoughts are more reflections than companions. I try not to think about photography on the road. It just happens.

I still find image making a challenge. Freeing the fragile data from another apparatus with the help of one apparatus has something of sculpting for me. The transformation from nothing to object, whether analogue or digital could consume a lifetime and one would still not reach an end of its possibilities.

The images are like paths, many small stones, sand and like my traces they will eventually disappear. That’s okay.
